Ben Chapman works in close partnership with his clients to provide practical and cost-effective business solutions for a wide array of employment law and regulatory issues. He is accomplished litigator with extensive experience successfully handling civil ligation, arbitrations and mediations in state and federal courts. He concentrates on commercial and business litigation, insurance defense and employment law disputes.

Mr. Chapman has earned a reputation as a trusted counselor for business clients, providing day-to-day advice on general human resource related matters, including best practices, risk management, and compliance review. When clients are faced with a legal claim arising from employment related practices, Mr. Chapman is an effective advocate for management, regularly defending employers in employment litigation and arbitration disputes. Mr. Chapman's litigation practice has included restrictive covenant claims, complex class-action litigation, employee benefits lawsuits, wage and hour matters, and the spectrum of employment discrimination and retaliation claims. With nearly 20 years of experience representing clients in claims involving federal and state EEO issues or Employer’s Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) coverages, Mr. Chapman brings a results oriented approach to the defense of employment-related claims, and works with clients to coordinate cost-effective and efficient strategies.

Mr. Chapman provides an invaluable product particularly to early-stage companies by helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses while developing best practices and legal safeguards in labor and employment, regulatory, and related areas. Working hand in hand with human resource professionals and in-house attorneys at more established employers, Mr. Chapman coordinates efforts with everyone involved to ensure compliance with the ever-changing landscape of laws and regulations at the federal, state and local levels.

Before joining LaFleur & Laborde as a partner, Mr. Chapman's previous 20 years of practice was as partner with Milling, Benson, Woodward and as an attorney with Avant & Falcon, where his practice focused on labor and employment issues.
